At this writing, another group say it is going before the United States Supreme Court, hoping to get an opinion that “Intelligent
Design” runs against what our Constitution says about “church and state.”
As you may know, they’re now using the words “intelligent design” instead of the word “creation,”
apparently hoping the word will go away.
As I thought about this latest try at getting God completely out of our system, I wondered how those nine people on our
supreme court can fail to understand what the constitution says. The first colonists came here to escape the habit of their
governments…England for example…to name an official religion of their country.
Lots of people didn’t want the government telling them how to worship, and so the first amendment to our constitution
clearly said, and I quote: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting
the free exercise thereof.” The meaning is clear…it has nothing to do with separation of church and state, and
it leaves no room for a judge to change it. And yet we Christians by the millions sit quietly by while ONE person gets a judge
to spout an opinion, with the nation quickly taking it as inevitable.
But I’ll tell you what is inevitable; they’re not going to get rid of God. Gamaliel had it right when people
were trying to get the believers killed for believing in Christ, back in the Apostle Paul‘s time. Gamaliel said (Acts
5:38) “Refrain from these men, and let them alone; for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought;
(39) But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.”
The courts and the non-believers don’t see the true meaning of what our Constitution says because they don’t
WANT to believe. As Jesus said about those who fought against His teaching, that they don’t see nor hear because they
don’t want to see or hear.” And it’s true. People who don’t want to follow christ, don’t
want ANYone to follow Him. And they foolishly think that if they can make enough laws, they’ll finally have us stopped.
They’re going to find out how wrong they’ve been the moment they die and wake up in hell. Pray for them.
