Ye shall find a colt tied, whereon yet never man sat: loose him, and bring him hither." Luke 19:30 KJV Read: Luke 19: 28-48

The Unbroken Colt

A cowboy would call it a miracle, I suppose. Yet I've never heard this preached, or even used as a thought worth dwelling on: The entry into Jerusalem by Jesus which so many believed would lead to a revengeful crownship, was made on a colt that had never been ridden. Never broken!

You would expect it to buck and rear up against Him. Did even this animal realize that Jesus' purpose was peace and submission?

In another article, I suggested that this colt could have misunderstood all the shout of praise during this entrance as being for the colt himself and could have become prideful, if it were in an animal's intelligence to reason. However, this occasion was the Lord's, and the colt was tame for the task.

Is this a worthy comparison? That we should be submissive to Him, even if it means another "first" in our lives? Consider the person called to be a minister or missionary. What a temptation to say "But Lord, I've never done this before."

This is good advice: Say "yes" if you receive a Call From Christ. He is sufficient.
