You have no idea who or where someone is praying for you. I was watching a sermon on TV, and you know how the cameras pan around from one section to another of the congregation? As it clicked on an area, I saw a lady who looked like she was hurting from some problem. My first thought was that if she might feel better if she could only turn up the corners of her mouth. But then, my thoughts turned into an outright prayer for her.
I'll never see her again, but I pray that she'll feel relief from her cares, and she may wonder, "what happened!" When the Lord takes over, the day seems brighter, the clouds prettier, and even I felt better. I have no idea who she is, but Galations 6:2 says, "Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ." And in Matthew 25:44-45, they asked the Lord when do we see a stranger hungry or thirsty, and how did that help you, and Jesus answered that when we help them, it's as though we're helping Him.
That lady never dreamed that a total stranger was praying for her. And someone may be praying for you...or for me, right now. I've heard people say that our praying for people in general doesn't do any good, but I find myself praying for the helpless people, and even animals, for their comfort, and I pray a double blessing for those who are helping those helpless ones. Because as I've mentioned in earlier articles, even those who are paid to help them, deserve our blessings, because it takes a special person who can be among them day after day, and keep their passion of love. Pray for any need you see. God will see, and will say, "Thank You."
