There’s something I need to get off my chest. But remember…this is
my personal thinking, but there are many things in the Bible that God leaves unclear, for us to understand and possibly enjoy
in Heaven. So here goes.
In Matthew 22:30, Jesus says, "For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the
angels of God in Heaven." All I’ve ever heard preached nor even hinted, is that this means we’ll all be
single and as the angels. But the Bible also says Heaven is Happiness, beyond our wildest dreams. And so…isn’t
it possible that we married people will be there together…having already been married, back here on earth? No re-marrying,
no intimacies, but no problem.
And I must tell you that at this very moment, the thought has come to me for the first time ever…and I had to look
it up before quoting to you, Mark 10:8-9, the words of Jesus as he himself talked about marriage; "And they twain shall
be one flesh; so then they are no more twain, but one flesh…What therefore God hath joined together, let no man put
asunder." It may be that there’s something to my thinking! Even remarriage back on earth could be just one big
happy family, in Heaven.
If that were true, what I’ve said in the past, still could also be true…that where there have been second marriages
after a spouse has passed on, there won’t be confusion in Heaven. No jealousy or envy. And as for other rights of
marriage, they won’t be a factor. With God, nothing is impossible, so He would know how to handle our mindset in such
cases. Whatever His plans, there won’t be problems.
And I’ll add this…if you’re up in years now, if a tear comes to your eyes
when you happen to think how sad it might be, to be alone here, there’s a beautiful consolation…that there’ll
be no reason for tears in Heaven. No covetousness nor resentment. God planned all togetherness, even from the Garden of
What a reason for
everyone, and anyone, to give their lives to Christ, for that reason, if for no other! If you haven’t gotten prepared,
talk to Him, because God may have your second Honeymoon House ready, even now!
