In reading through the Bible again and again, I almost dread the
most wonderful part. When you read it, don’t read straight through from Genesis to Revelation; The New Testament mustn’t
wait that long. David, Solomon and other parts are good, but do it my way…read a portion of the Old and the New each
day, so you can keep your perspective without waiting months to read the miraculous part, it pains me, yet consoles me…how
Christ gave His life for me.
And what if Jesus really had been "just a prophet." Do you realize the position we’d still be in? Trying
to live up to the hundreds of laws the religious leaders had us plodding through, while they kept adding new ones. It smacks
of the very thing our government is doing to us, while leading us away from Christ!
Even the very act of the many sacrifices would be too much,
but it’s those very details that prove the Bible is totally true. What other book could continually be a best seller,
with things like that taking a big portion. A book that even gives the sins of our heroes, along with their miracles.
Yes…I always read through the trials,
crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus, with it hurting my soul, while at the same time being the very part that saved my soul.
These are the parts that give us the answers to why we live the Christian life, and how Jesus becoming a living sacrifice
for us, makes it all worthwhile.
For example, how, when we read of Peter’s living those three years day and night with Jesus…walking on the water…Jesus
telling him to go fish and the first catch would have a gold piece in its mouth for him to pay their taxes with…how
he could see things like that, then deny him three times during Christ’s trial…then be
forgiven and becoming one of the greatest Christians of all! It just makes me use that description "mind boggling"
one more time!
Read your Bible, but don’t wait months to read that part. To think that it can upstage even things like the Creation!
Just read it all…and believe it all!
