I’ve always agreed with folks who complained
and wondered why God made mosquitos. Then I remembered, "And God saw every thing that He had made, and behold, it was
very good" (Genesis 1:31). My thinking that before Adam and Eve brought sin into God’s new world, every thing
WAS good. I’m thinking that the mosquito didn’t bite and the fly didn’t ruin picnics. And the rattlesnake
walked and talked, and wasn’t an enemy of man.
And so don’t blame God for making those things we fault today. I remind you also that Adam and Eve
didn’t have dates with death before eating of the Tree of Knowledge. They had free access to the Tree of Life…I
suppose the same one that is now in Heaven, and we’ll eat of it as part of our eternal life gift from God.
Oh, but remember, before I go any further…these are my
personal thoughts. Read your Bible and ask God to sit with you. Don’t take anyone else’s word. That’s
why I encourage you to choose a church that urges you to read your Bible, and even to bring it to church with you. I’d
as soon forget my shoes as my Bible when I head for church. In fact, when there’s a singing or a Christmas play or
any activity other than a church service, I still feel something’s missing as I head for that building.
Next time you find yourself complaining about something, leave
God out of it and be thankful that there are more good things that bad in this world. More good people than bad, too…it’s
just that the squeaking wheel gets the grease, and the problems get the boos.
God created "and it was good." Six times in the book of Genesis that
phrase comes up, and where it didn’t, He said "it was so." He spoke everything into existence, and everything
was good until Man and his free choice came along.
you haven’t used your free choice to give your heart to Christ, do it while the though is in your mind. Without it,
any man (or woman) is a failure.
