You may have missed the news article that Reverend Sun Myung Moon, the self-proclaimed
Messiah from South Korea, has died. It brings to mind the scripture "For many shall come in my name, saying, "I
am Christ; and shall deceive many." (Matthew 24:5).
One of the things that
denied the claim: Christ owned only one robe, but Moon owned much land both here and in South America, and also owned many
businesses, a university, and a gun factory. He also had a seafood operation and a number of news media, including the Washington
Times newspaper...quite different from Christ, who said, "Foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but
the Son of man hath not where to lay his head." (Matthew 8:20).
Moon was a man, not the Son of God, and died of pneumonia. And even the date of his death can confuse; it was Sunday, September
3rd in Washington, but was Monday, South Korean time.
According to a news article,
Moon had a meeting in a Senate office building in Washington, in 2004, and several members of Congress were there when he
had himself crowned as "none other than humanity's Savior, Messiah, Returning Lord and True Parent."
He helped fulfil Bible prophecy, which we have already quoted here, but we add from later in Matthew 24,
verse 23-24, "Then if any man shall say unto you, lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. For there shall arise
false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall
deceived the very elect."
We await Christ's Second Coming, and there'll
be no confusion as to that moment, for "In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump; for the trumpet shall
sound." (1 Corinthians 15:52). Watch and be ready.
