Have you wondered why God’s first plan…of offering animal sacrifices to Him…didn’t
work? It was because His Chosen People didn’t keep their part of the agreement. If it had, Christ wouldn’t have
had to offer Himself as the ultimate sacrifice.
We assume it was the Apostle Paul who talked about it in the 8th and 9th chapters of
to book of Hebrews. Paul says, starting in the 7th verse, “For if that first covenant had been faultless,
then should no place have been sought for the second. (8) For finding fault with them, he (God) says, “Behold, the days
come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah (9) because they
continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not,“ said the Lord. And in the 13th verse, In that he
said, “A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.”
And that decision opened the door for the rest of us to also become His children.
The fact is that the Israelites, and even other people have always caused their own downfall, and it may be
that they will also bring about the end of the world and Christ’s coming back for Christians. People are getting so
wicked now, that we wonder why He doesn’t just give up on bringing more people to Himself, and ask God to send Him back.
(Remember, Jesus said that no one except God himself…not even Christ…knows the exact day and hour that God will
call and end to the world as we know it. In Matthew 24:36, Jesus says, “But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no,
not the angels of heaven, but my Father, only.” And in my own thinking, I think Christians themselves may come to the
point that they begin to pray for Christ to come back for them, influencing Him to do just that.
But whether the world’s sinners, or Christians help bring this world to an end, it IS going to happen.
My suggestion stands: Be ready. And the way to do that is to talk to the Lord now, and tell Him you’re ready to give
your life to Him.
Ask forgiveness for your past sins, however large or small, and prove you’ve done it by living a life
that shows it.
