I may have talked with you at other times about this, but have you ever wondered why we have no proven items from the Old
Testament, or from Jesus’ time here on earth? Men have searched down through history, and in fact, in looking for the
remains of Noah’s Ark, have used our satellites to scan the earth’s surface. And of course we’ve all heard,
read or seen, the claims that they’ve found the burial sheets of Christ.
Well, suppose we DID still have something…Christ’s crown of thorns, or the cross on which he was crucified.
Or Moses’ rod he held out to part the Mediterranean Sea. Or Joshua’s helmet. Or David’s book of poetry.
You know what would be happening now. The item would have a special place in some museum, with a charge for you to go in (and
you can believe the charge would be large). It’s enough that we still have the “Wailing Wall” in Jerusalem,
where people by the millions have knelt and prayed. I wouldn’t recommend it, especially at this writing in December
of 2006, when a life over in that country may hang by a thread as even young girls sacrifice their lives to become Islamic
heroines.
A person of the Islamic belief was being interviewed on TV and was asked, “Since men who give their lives for Mohammad
will have a large number of young virgin girls, upon their entrance to heaven, what will the women get who make the sacrifice?”
And the spokesman said that he supposed there would also be young men virgins waiting for them.
Well, Mohammad is dead, but Jehovah God and Jesus Christ are alive, and we Christians pin our destiny on THEM. I believe
that we stand a better chance of making Heaven by preaching love, not killing of innocent people wherever they happen to be
when a bomb explodes among them. Although I want you to be a Christian, I don’t want to kill you if you refuse. Talk
to the Living God about your future.
